Master draughtsman, Ted McKinlay presents his new drawings at Neon Parlour for the first time as the intended finale of his pastel works on paper. These are works of beauty and consideration akin to a highly accomplished artist delving deeply into the familiar relationships between the manufactured and natural world, the personal and the universal, along with humanity itself.
Ted’s immense colour fields explore the mountains and beyond as imagery that lingers in the valley to service the thought and eyes. This exhibition directs without didactics, simultaneously satisfying the viewer and creating an appetite for further engagement. This is work to see, behold and think about as an artist, a human and world community. Neon Parlour is graced with a rare glimpse into an intriguing artist.
