Animachin: Kids Animation Workshop

Stop motion animation is an exciting and hands-on approach to filmmaking. It has been used to create such beloved characters as Wallace & Grommit, Shaun the Sheep and Paranorman.

Beginning July 6 Neon Parlour will be hosting a 3 Day Animation workshop for children aged 9+

Students work in groups to write a short script, create plasticine characters and build colourful sets from a variety of materials.

Using a camera and laptop computer students, photograph their creations and bring them to life one frame at a time. Learning the basic techniques of stop animation filmmaking.

In the final stage of the process, students use microphones to record voices for their characters.

After the workshop has ended our team assembles the visuals with music, voice and sound effects. Students can take home their plasticine characters and will receive a copy of the finished film.
